Shaygan Kheradpir and the Future of the Remote Worker

As fast, wireless internet has become more and more available, so have jobs that allow employees to telecommute rather than head to an office. Telecommuting has a number of advantages, one of which is that a company doesn’t have to maintain an office space for its entire workforce. Especially when you have a larger work force, saving on office space rental and utilities can be huge.

The infrastructure that has allowed so many people to become remote workers is something Juniper CEO Shaygan Kheradpir has known was important for some time. Before he joined Juniper, Kheradpir worked as the Chief Information Officer at Verizon. During his time there, he helped the company create new IP and multimedia projects, projects that ultimately led to the launch of FiOS and internet streaming as well as high-speed VoIP services. Those services both individually and together play a role in how many remote workers are able to do their jobs.

For instance, some customer service jobs can now be done from people’s homes. Workers can have calls routed to their computers using VoIP services, allowing them to interact with customers across the country or around the world. VoIP in particular has made a dramatic impact cost-wise for many businesses. By routing calls over the web rather than through traditional phone lines, businesses can save on long-distance and general phone charges. VoIP can make international calls free, and can enable collaboration between employees who live on the other side of the world from each other.

Much like VoIP has transformed the telecommuting workforce, so has fast internet and internet streaming. Those services make things like video conferencing, and data work possible from remote locations. Since you don’t necessarily need to be directly plugged into a modem to connect, workers can steam work-related content and deal with large amount of data from anywhere, even a coffee shop.

Telecommuting might not be for all business types, but for those that it is, it’s a wonderful opportunity to not only cut down on your business costs, but also to hire employees from around the globe. An online business can have workers in New York, San Francisco, and even Tokyo, all working together simultaneously just as if they were in the same office. It’s the future of our world, and it’s something going on right now in a number f industries.

It will be interesting to see where we are even just 5 years down the line. We’re likely to see even more remote workers, and even greater technology to help make that remote working happen.

People Should Try To Be More Like Joseph Bismark

Joseph Bismark cares about the people that he works with and the way that he treats them, and everyone who takes a look at his career can see that. He is all about treating people fairly and allowing them the chance to prove themselves in their jobs.
He also cares about bringing spirituality into the business world and making the two of them work well together. He set out to prove a point when he started his company and combined the two, and he has been able to do well for himself in that. Overall, Joseph Bismark is just a really good guy. He has a good heart, and he honestly cares about all of the people that he works with day to day.
Reading all of this on the WordPress blog End of an Earring has led me to believe that Joseph Bismark’s unique way of doing things just might be the best way of doing things. More businessmen should take a look at the way that he conducts himself and try to be a bit more like him. He knows that treating the people he works with fairly is the right thing to do, and if more people could see that and do that, then everyone would have a better, more encouraging work environment. They would be left feeling encouraged and be more likely to love their jobs.
